Service Projects
Family Friendly
Means you can do this with all members of your family ages 5 and up
Dorm room detail cleaning (2+ people) – Two hours per room
Leaf raking, seasonal from October to November (2 people groups, unlimited groups) – Time is up to you
Barn Clean up (2+ people) – Time is up to you
Branch Clean up (2+ people) – Time is up to you
Trash pick-up around camp (2+ people) – Time is up to you
Flower bed planting (2+ people) – Takes about 3 – 4 hours
Group Friendly
Great things to do with a youth group, family, or another group that has adult supervision
Trail Trimming (3-4 people groups) – Two hours per trail. Use of power equipment will be necessary and operator must be 18 years old. Typical group time is 3 – 4 hour commitment.
Tree Removal (2 – 8 people groups) – Help removed downed trees around the camp. Use of chainsaw by an adult operator is necessary. Small children can help with branch pick up and clean up with parent oversight.
Wood Splitting (2 – 3 people) - Help split wood and stack on wood piles throughout camp.
Grass Mowing (1+ person) – Three hour commitment. Must be 16 to operate mower.
Camp Fire Benches (1+ people) – build new benches for our campfire areas and lodge
Additional projects can be worked to fit your group or families needs. Should you have an area of the camp that you would like to work on or improve that is not listed please contact the camp to discuss the project.
Knowledge/Skill based Projects
Having the wisdom to do the project correctly to last year’s and/or the certification to replace and rebuild the project listed. Some projects might be good for someone who likes to teach or train your children or others
Campfire Benches (1+ people) – build new benches for our campfire areas and lodge
Roof Replacement (8 – 15 people) – Weekend of work. Start Friday evening and end on Saturday evening or Sunday morning. May require a second weekend depending on building and square footage. Must be 16 to be on the roof and 18 to operate any of the power equipment used. Younger children can help to pick up trash from ground.
Painting (2 + people) – Three hour increments or more. Ability to be detailed oriented, set up and clean area when finished. Finished project must look professional.
Plumbing (1 + person/people) – Ability to replace insides of toilets, replace full toilet, and also some drain replacement is needed
Electrical (1 or 2+ people) – Replace ballasts and light bulbs throughout camp, take about 2 – 3 hours per project or visit. Cleaning out of light covers. Replace old lights with new up to date T-8 or LED fixtures.
Door Trim Replacement (1+ person/people) – Replace trim work in the lodge and around doors that have been replaced.
