Wrangler
Responsibilities
Ability to Ride a horse at level 2 or equivalent
Help prepare and put away the trail line-up
Bring in horses daily
Groom and saddle horses following established procedures
Assists in fitting helmets on campers
Assists in mounting and dismounting campers
Helps maintain a safe environment at the barn and on the trail
Assist in the daily chores at the barn
Keeping all areas of the horse program clean
Assist riding instructors with classes
Maintain Barnyard and trails
Other Job Duties
Participate enthusiastically in all camp activities,
planning and leading those as assigned.
Participate as a member of the camp staff team to deliver and supervise evening programs, special events, overnights, and other all-camp activities and camp functions.
Physical Aspects of the Position
Ability to understand and implement safety regulations and procedures.
Ability to identify safety hazards, monitor guest and staff behavior, and enforce appropriate safety regulation and emergency procedures.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and occasional lifting of equipment weighing up to 75 pounds may be necessary.
Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the camp operation.
Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid.
Must be able to assist campers in an emergency and possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers.
